You have everything that you could perceive,
but it does not satisfy your real need,
and when you took one look at me,
you thought the resolution would be easy.
Just as there are always undercurrents in the sea,
life does not give us choices that are crystal clear,
and when my windswept situation came to light,
you turned away instead of holding me tight.
My integrity and passion were never at stake,
regardless of how much money you make,
for life on my terms can never be bought,
and the true love that I brought was what you lost.
The test in life was yours, not mine,
to check your soul and where it lies,
worldly measures, to you, still mean more,
farewell, my silent thought, as I closed your door.
